Visiting hours

The Bahá’í House of Worship will be open from Tuesday to Sunday from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm. Mondays will be closed. 

Prayer service

The prayer service consists of prayers and readings from different Holy Scriptures. In order to maintain reverence during the prayer service, the exit door of the prayer hall will remain closed until the prayer service is over. The duration of each prayer service is 10-15 minutes.

Timings: 10 am, 12 pm, 3 pm, 5 pm.

Please note: To maintain the capacity and for the safety of the visitors, the prayer hall shall remain closed when overcrowded ( on Sundays or other public holidays) or on account of heavy rain.

Appointments for group visits

Visitors in groups of 10 or more, who are planning a visit to the Bahá’í House of Worship, may fill this form prior to the visit. 

  • Please make an appointment at least three days prior to your visit.
  • Appointments are not accepted for Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
  • Upon receipt of your request, you will be contacted for confirmation.
  • The Temple management reserves the right to cancel the appointment, in the event of any unforeseen circumstances.


The Bahá’í House of Worship is located in the neighborhood of Bahapur in Kalkaji, South Delhi. The DDA parking facility opposite the main gate is available for use. One can reach here by the following means. 

By Metro

The nearest metro stations are

  • Kalkaji Mandir Metro Station, serviced by violet and magenta lines – a 5 minute walk to the House of Worship.
  • Okhla NSIC station, serviced by magenta line – a 5 minute walk to the House of Worship.
From the New Delhi Railway Station
  • The Bahá’í House of Worship is 15.4 km away from New Delhi Railway Station, a distance of approximately 40 minutes by taxi-cab or an auto rickshaw.
  • One can also take the Metro from New Delhi Railway Station by boarding the Yellow line towards Central Secretariat, change to Violet line, disembark at Kalkaji metro station, walk about 500 m and arrive at the Bahá’í House of Worship – Lotus Temple, Bahapur, Kalkaji.
From the Airport
  • The Bahá’í House of Worship is 16.6 km away from IGI airport – Delhi, a distance of approximately 45 minutes by car. One can utilize prepaid cab services at the airport or use private transportation to the location – ‘Bahá’í House of Worship- Lotus Temple’ Bahapur, Kalkaji.
  • One can also take the Metro from Terminal 1 at IGI airport – Delhi, by boarding the Magenta line towards Botanical Garden, disembark at NSIC Okhla metro station, walk 650 m and arrive at the Bahá’í House of Worship – Lotus Temple, Bahapur, Kalkaji.

Thermal screening will be done at the entrance.

Do not touch the railings.

Wearing of shoes is not permitted in the prayer hall. Shoes can be deposited in the shoe room.

Wheelchairs are available at the main gate on a first come first serve basis.

This is a smoke-free facility.

Washrooms & drinking water facilities are available.

Food and drinks are not allowed on the premises.

Large baggage is not allowed inside the premises.

Photography is permitted, except inside the prayer hall and the Information Centre. Professional photographers require prior permission.

Lost and found department is located at the main office situated at the foot of the main edifice.
