We are pleased to inform you that on the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Office of Public Affairs of the Bahá’ís of India is organizing a symposium titled, “Seedbeds for Change: Reconceptualizing the Family as a Space for Fostering the Equality of the Sexes” on Wednesday, 23 March 2022.

The symposium is being organized to open up a space for exploring the kind of changes that the family as an institution would need to undergo to serve as a seedbed for rearing those concepts, attitudes, and values that promote the equality of the sexes and as a model for the kind of structural change that society would need to achieve.

Family is a fundamental social institution where conceptions related to the role of women and men are learned and practiced. Not only is the family the first space where human beings learn those patterns of thought and behavior that are associated with being a man or a woman, it also provides the structure where these conceptions are given concrete shape in the form of well-defined gender roles.

Venue : The Main Auditorium, Information Centre, Bahá’í House of Worship (Lotus Temple), New Delhi
Time : 10.00 AM to 1.00 PM
